Fiji’s outsourcing industry has strengthened its future leadership pipeline with the graduation of participants from the Leading for Impact Programme, an initiative delivered through a partnership between Outsource Fiji and Thrive4Women to equip professionals with the skills, confidence, and mindset needed to lead in an increasingly competitive global business environment.
The graduation ceremony held yesterday at the Tanoa Plaza Hotel in Suva celebrated the achievements of participants who successfully completed the programme, which focused on leadership development, communication, self-awareness, strategic thinking, and building the capabilities required to drive positive outcomes within organisations and teams.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Outsource Fiji Board Member Ms Neha Kumar congratulated the graduates for their commitment to personal and professional development and highlighted the critical role leadership plays in the continued growth of Fiji’s outsourcing sector.
“Firstly, congratulations to all of today’s graduates. Completing any leadership programme requires commitment, discipline, and a willingness to challenge yourself,” Ms Kumar said.
“Leadership is not something that develops overnight. It requires continuous learning, reflection, and the courage to step outside familiar territory. Today’s graduation is recognition of the effort you have invested in your own development, and that is something worth celebrating.”
Ms Kumar said Outsource Fiji’s commitment extends beyond promoting Fiji as a world-class outsourcing destination and includes investing in the people who will drive the future success of the industry.
“As many of you know, Outsource Fiji’s role extends beyond promoting Fiji as an outsourcing destination. We are equally focused on developing the people who will drive the future success
of our industry. Our Strategic Plan recognises that workforce development and talent readiness are critical to the long-term growth and competitiveness of Fiji’s outsourcing sector.”
“We often talk about investment, technology, infrastructure, and international markets. All of these are important. However, at the centre of every successful organisation is something far more important which is the people. The quality of leadership within our organisations often determines how successfully we respond to challenges, embrace opportunities, and create lasting impact.”
She said the programme was designed not simply to develop managers but to cultivate leaders who can think strategically, communicate effectively, build trust, navigate change, and bring out the best in those around them.
Participants explored leadership from multiple perspectives throughout the programme, strengthening communication skills, developing greater self-awareness, examining how they respond under pressure, and gaining practical tools for leading teams and influencing outcomes.
Ms Kumar also acknowledged the contribution of leadership facilitator and Thrive4Women Founder and Facilitator, Jane Counsel, whose extensive experience in leadership development helped shape the programme and guide participants through their leadership journey.
Thrive4Women Founder and Facilitator Ms Jane Counsel said the programme represented far more than traditional leadership training.
“What participants have been part of is far more than a training programme. It has been a shared commitment to developing leadership with greater intention, awareness, and impact. What made this programme particularly special was the strong sense of connection that was built throughout the journey.”
“The programme brought together diverse people, perspectives, and experiences from Fiji and Australia, creating an environment where participants could learn from one another, support one another, and grow together. Leadership does not happen in isolation. It is shaped through meaningful connections, constructive conversations, and a willingness to learn from those around us.”
Ms Counsel said participants were encouraged to reflect deeply on the type of leaders they wanted to become and the impact they wished to create both professionally and personally.
“Throughout the programme, participants were encouraged to reflect on the kind of leaders they aspire to be, how they want to show up for others, and the impact they hope to create, not only within their organisations, but also within their communities and through the service they provide to customers.
She expressed confidence that graduates would continue creating meaningful impact across workplaces and communities.
“I have no doubt that each graduate will continue to lead with purpose and create meaningful impact across teams, organisations, cultures, and borders. The skills, insights, and relationships developed through this programme will continue to make a positive difference well into the future.”
Arunesh Prasad, Head of Human Resources, Fiji at RCL Services Pte Limited, said the programme provided valuable insights that would strengthen his leadership approach and support his professional growth.
“The Leading for Impact Programme has been an incredibly valuable experience. It challenged me to reflect on my leadership style, strengthen my communication skills, and better understand how to inspire and support people within the workplace.
“As a Human Resources professional, leadership is at the heart of everything we do, and the practical tools, insights, and perspectives gained through this programme will help me become a more effective leader and contribute more meaningfully to the success of my team and organisation. I am grateful to Outsource Fiji and Thrive4Women for creating a platform that encourages continuous learning and personal growth.”
As Fiji’s outsourcing industry continues to evolve amid changing client expectations, technological advancement, and increasing global competition, Outsource Fiji remains committed to strengthening workforce capability and leadership capacity across the sector.
A total of 44 participants were part of the leadership training programme.

🌱We applaud Recoveries Corp Limited (RCL) for its commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable business practices.
🤝 Thank you, Market Development Facility for supporting practical sustainability initiatives that are helping businesses build a more resilient future.
Climate action in Fiji’s sector doesn’t always require big infrastructure—it can start with practical decisions inside the office.
💡 This World Environment Day, we’re celebrating MDF partner, Recoveries Corp Limited (RCL), which is investing in energy efficiency, upgrading lighting systems, installing air conditioning energy savings devices, and an electric current optimisation system to reduce energy consumption and manage operating costs.
📉 These changes also help the business keep up with growing expectations from clients around emissions reporting.
For many outsourcing firms operating in leased spaces, renewable energy investments can be complex. Energy efficiency offers a more immediate, practical way to reduce costs and better manage energy use.
🌍 Through its partnership with Outsource Fiji , MDF is supporting companies like RCL to understand where these changes can make a difference, starting with energy audits and practical recommendations.
