A moment where we Finns celebrate and dance in the midnight sun, welcoming the short but oh so sweet summer season.

During the Juhannus weekend most of us go to a family or friends’ summer cottage deep in the nature, which often are by one of the 188 000 lakes in our country. We fire up the sauna, and in there,beat each other with bath whisks made with fresh birch tree branches, and sing & play songs until the early morning hours…although it’s often very hard to know when it is sunset and when it is sunrise, there are just some hazy hours in the night that vaguely resemble a night 😃

These days are full light or as we call it in Finnish VALO!

Somehow it feels like it is the power of this immense midsummer light in the North that also got us started 13 years ago 🔥
