An asphalt paving crew typically consists of several key roles and equipment, working together to pave a section of road. Here's a typical setup:

Machine Operator:
Operates the asphalt paver, which spreads and levels the hot mix asphalt.
Truck Drivers:
Transport the hot mix asphalt from the asphalt plant to the job site.
Rakers:
Work alongside the paver operator to ensure the asphalt is spread evenly and at the right thickness.
Operators: 2 pneumatic and 1 Steel Roller
Drive the rollers over the newly laid asphalt to compact it and achieve the desired density.
Laborers:
Assist with various tasks such as shoveling asphalt, directing traffic, and general cleanup.
Supervisors:
Oversee the entire paving process, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to specifications.

The crew will also have support vehicles like pickup trucks for transporting tools and equipment, as well as traffic control measures in place for safety.

These Detour signs are placed along the road to inform drivers of the detour route. They indicate where drivers should turn and provide directions to help them navigate around the construction zone.
Flaggers: Flaggers are stationed at key points along the detour route to direct traffic. They help ensure that drivers follow the correct path and can also help coordinate traffic flow at intersections or other challenging areas.
Detour Route: The detour route is carefully planned to minimize disruptions to traffic flow while still providing a safe alternative route. It may involve using secondary roads or other nearby routes.
Temporary Traffic Signals: In some cases, temporary traffic signals may be installed along the detour route to help manage traffic flow, especially at intersections or areas with heavy traffic.
Road Closures: Some roads may need to be completely closed during construction, requiring drivers to use the detour route. Road closure signs are used to indicate that the road is closed and direct drivers to the detour route.
Detours are typically set up with the goal of safely and efficiently redirecting traffic around the construction zone while minimizing delays and inconvenience to drivers.
As you can see, the two lanes work separately, resulting in the project being completed earlier.
