🔑 Peugeot 108 – Lost Key Situation… and Much More! 🔑

I was recently contacted by a lady who had lost the keys to her Peugeot 108.

A recovery truck was sent to assist her and advised that the vehicle should be taken to the Citroën dealership in Torrevieja. The dealership then inspected the car but decided they couldn’t carry out the work required to supply and program new keys, so they sent the vehicle on to a Peugeot specialist in Orihuela.

The specialist had the car for around three weeks, repeatedly telling her they were unable to program a new key because there were supposedly issues with the vehicle. They claimed it needed a replacement ECU/immobiliser module.

Fortunately, someone suggested she contact me for a second opinion.

After hearing everything that had happened, I advised her to get the car returned. Following some back-and-forth with both garages, the vehicle was eventually delivered back to her.

When it arrived, I discovered they had removed the entire dashboard while supposedly searching for the immobiliser ECU so they could replace it. They even told her that if she wanted the dashboard refitted, it would cost an additional €190 + IVA!

To make matters worse, she had already paid approximately €800 and was left with a car in pieces, a new key that still wasn’t programmed, and no actual repair carried out.

✅ I programmed the key.
✅ Reassembled and refitted the dashboard.
✅ Checked the immobiliser system.
✅ Confirmed there was absolutely nothing wrong with the ECU or immobiliser module.

All of this was completed the very same day.

The really shocking part is if she had agreed to replace the ECU/immobiliser as suggested, the part alone would have cost around €2,000! 😳

The result? A very happy customer, a fully functioning car, and two working keys. 😃🔑🔑
