Every story has a version a city of people has never seen.

seeing it takes more than showing up with a camera. It takes understanding what a community means to the people inside it, what these images need to accomplish, and which moments will carry that weight before they ever happen.

The part of this work I find myself most devoted to are the conversations and planning that happen long before the shutter does. The structure underneath the spontaneity.

I’m getting rid of the shot list.

I’ll still keep track of the few groupings that are important to you, but my goal is to let your day, your family, your personalities, your energetic dynamic breathe to its fullest capacity without me stepping in.

If my images don’t make you FEEL something, understand the humans and brands in them/behind them, then I’m doing my job all wrong. Imagery isn’t for clout, it isn’t for vanity, it isn’t for legacy.

Imagery is to remind you of the moments where YOU felt too. The tenderness that came out when you let go of the role you were performing. The softness you embodied when love crashed down on all of walls you’d built to keep it out.

So yes, the formal shot list does serve a purpose, but the photographs you’ll cry over won’t be on it. They may hang on your wall, but they won’t hang in your heart.
