We couldn't contain our excitement for the Grand Egyptian Museum, therefore we had to pay a visit on the 2nd day of the opening of 12 new galleries..
For those in Egypt or coming soon, the Grand Egyptian Museum MUST be on your bucket list, as of yesterday -October 16th- 12 new galleries have been opened to the public.
The 12 galleries are divided into 3 per era, but is all dedicated to Ancient Egypt including Greco-Romans -King Tut's collection is still at the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities in Tahrir.
No photos, videos or even live footage can give it justice..
Our idea was to first enjoy it without worrying about taking photos then going back again to take photos and videos, but after 5 hours of walking, we were exhausted to go back (but we will go again real soon)..
You can book normal tickets or a guided tour in Arabic or English within specific slots, you can also buy normal tickets then if you decide to take a guided tour, you can ask if there is availability and pay the price difference.
Currently tickets can be purchased online or on the spot, and must be paid by credit/debit card.
Parking is available for a fee.
And it's open daily from 8:30am till 6:00pm, last admission is at 4:00pm
