People often ask us... What is Bab?

At first glance, Bab looks like a place where activities happen: language clubs, reading circles, movie nights, game nights, arts & crafts, meditation, photography walks, coding sessions... and many more.

But they are simply the excuse.

People are the reason.

What we are really trying to build is something simple... and incredibly difficult.

A community where strangers become familiar faces, and familiar faces become something more.
A place where everyone is welcome as they are.
A place where you don't have to pretend.
A place where you can catch your breath.
A place where life slows down for a little while, and what matters most is simply being together.

Bab isn't perfect.
It never will be.

It is built by volunteers, with patience, resilience, kindness... and sometimes a little improvisation too. Like every human community, we are constantly learning, adapting, making mistakes, and growing together.

Nobody is paid.
There is no financial obligation to take part in what happens here.

Bab exists because people choose to contribute in different ways: through their time, their knowledge, their creativity, a helping hand, or simply their presence.
Every contribution matters.

Bab isn't something we built for the community.
It is something the community keeps building, one shared moment and one act of kindness at a time.

If one day you feel like walking through our orange door, we'll be happy to welcome you.
And if, someday, you feel like helping someone else feel at home, we'd love to welcome you as a volunteer too. 🤍
