Our album is now released ✨💙
https://duospiro.lnk.to/EchoesOfHer
“Echoes of Her” describes the journey of a woman from birth to death, capturing the key moments of her life through music. Starting with Amy Beach’s “Mother Songs”, the album begins with the tender innocence of infancy and maternal love. As the woman grows, Nadia Boulanger and Claude Debussy reflect on her blossoming identity and sensuality. With Debussy’s “Trois Chansons de Bilitis” she enters youth through a story of lust and power play.
Whether she falls in love or is manipulated into it, she is now on the verge of frenzy.
Edvard Grieg’s “Haugtussa” explores that exact emotion of young naive love, while Clara Schumann’s “Sechs Lieder” delves into longing and unfulfilled desires. The album intensifies with Rued Langgaard’s “Im Mai” and “Für Dich!”, portraying the turbulence of passion and dedication. She ends up marrying - of desire or reason? Poul Schierbeck’s “Den Trofaste Hustru” captures the ultimate internal conflict and sacrifice. “De Tre Prinsesser” stands as a symbol of women’s eternal struggle for recognition through the eyes of men.
In Lili Boulanger’s “Reflets” the protagonist raises her eyes from the inside and out to the world - to nature. She reconnects with nature and the circle of life.
Finally, Langgaard’s “Intet ly” reflects the quiet acceptance of death, bringing the journey to a contemplative close.

We end the Langgaard series with a bang! ⚡️
It’s time for our two final songs, Im Mai and Du Tropfen Thau. Two of our favourites! Both songs, though different in themes, share a common connection to nature and its transient beauty. Langgaard’s ability to musically capture these natural phenomena is excellent and evokes vivid imagery and emotions.
Listening to these songs, you can appreciate how the music paints landscapes, making you feel the freshness of May and the delicate presence of morning dew 💧✨
At last we want to give a huge thank you to all of you who supported us during this project! We feel so lucky to have such supportive friends and family and the best mentors we could ask for 🩵
We wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year!🎄

Two new songs you wanna listen to ✨
Zigeunervise - It’s always interesting to see how the European world always shared a fascination with Romani music. Here we have quite a show, the song alludes to it being a snippet from a cabaret performance, a fiery show of temperament with erotic connotations.
In Das ist ein Brausen we also have a storm, but this time it’s a raging internal one. The lyrics makes us think it’s about a woman being abandoned, as a consequence for trying to have a “forbidden” love. Here the storm in nature is a reflection of the inner world of the person telling us a story, the piano strengthening the image of rain and gushes of wind with its figures in the bass.
These two songs serve to show Langgaard’s ingenuity being able to construct entire worlds using very little material and time, indeed these are two splendid miniatures for the lied genre💛

New lieder from Duo Spiro 💫
Sterben. At times it’s almost as if time stands still in this immensely beautiful piece. Langgaard manages with his rich harmonies and rhythmical pattern to create an almost ethereal quality that suggests a transcendence beyond the physical world. It all comes together with the text written by Rittershaus about life’s impermanence and the hint of something that comes after death. That something could most likely be in the hands of a God, which is the crucial theme of the other song, Marienlied. It ends with the words: “Mütterlich den müden Wanderer mit dem Sternenmantel zu” ⭐️🌚

It’s time for some Langgaard love ❤️ We added 2 more videos to our YouTube channel. These two lieder share a deep sense of love and devotion, with a strong connection to the night and dreams. Both texts written by Emil Rittershaus use the night as a backdrop for their emotions, creating a sense of deep, transcendent love that finds special intimacy in the stillness of the night 🌙
