On March 30, we held an event that became not only a space for screening and discussion, but also for a deeper understanding of the scale of crimes committed against Ukrainian children.

Together with experts in international law, human rights, and security policy - Pavel Havlíček, Kateryna Rashevska, and Veronika Bílková - we spoke about what stands behind the numbers: the real lives of children, the systematic nature of these crimes, and the complex path toward their return.

We were also honored by the opening remarks of Ambassador Vasyl Zvarych, who emphasized the urgency of this issue and its importance not only for Ukraine, but for the international community.

The discussion was further enriched by the participation of Claudio Javier Rozencwaig, Ambassador of Argentina to the Czech Republic, representing a country that is part of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.

For us, it was important to bring together youth, members of the diplomatic community, and experts in one space, so that this issue is voiced not only in official statements, but also through open, meaningful dialogue.

We especially value the opportunity for this direct exchange of perspectives and the attention of international partners to this topic. It is through such events that awareness, support, and shared responsibility are built.

We thank everyone who joined and became part of this conversation.

Shevchenko’s legacy continues to bring Ukrainians together across generations and borders. This Monday in Prague, the community gathered to reflect on his ideas, poetry, and the enduring role he plays in Ukraine’s cultural and national identity.

The day began with a flower-laying ceremony at the Taras Shevchenko monument near Švandovo divadlo, where members of the Ukrainian community and friends of Ukraine came together to honour one of the most influential voices in Ukrainian history.

Later, Generation for Ukraine co-organised a lecture titled "Shevchenko Through the Ages: Struggles for Ukrainian Independence," held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic in cooperation with Asociace MOST UA-CZ.

The event brought together students, community members, and guests interested in exploring Shevchenko’s role in Ukrainian history and the continued relevance of his ideas today. The discussion highlighted how his writings shaped national consciousness and remain deeply connected to Ukraine’s ongoing struggle for freedom.

During the program, awards were also presented to the winners of the literary competition dedicated to the Shevchenko Days.

The lecture featured speakers Taras Katrun and Sofia Levytska, who shared historical and cultural perspectives on Shevchenko’s legacy.

We are grateful to everyone who joined, participated, and helped make this event meaningful for the Ukrainian community in Prague.

🇬🇧🤝🇺🇦 In the fifth episode of Disinfo Brief, our guest is Kate Davenport OBE, the Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Prague. Ms Davenport combines her extensive experience from both Ukraine and Czechia, coordinating the British response to multiple crises, to help us understand the entire picture of the influence of disinformation.

🤔 Are there similarities between information manipulation during the COVID-19 pandemic and Russian full-scale invasion?

🌐 What is Ukraine Communications Group, and how does it shape strategic communication?

🇬🇧 The fourth episode of Disinfo Brief takes us to the British Embassy in Prague to talk with His Excellency Matt Field, the Head of Mission of the UK to Czechia, about how to conduct public diplomacy in order to represent information in the best way and effectively communicate abroad. Mr Field also told us about the British-Czech cooperation in the field of malign influence prevention and current challenges.

💬 How to make public diplomacy effective, genuine, and tailored to the audience?

⚔️ How to fight disinformation in a world where malign actors exploit the very principles our democracies are built on to promote false narratives?

02/01/2026

We express our full solidarity with the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic, H.E. Vasyl Zvarych, and with the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in the Czech Republic.
We strongly reject false, manipulative and divisive statements made by certain politicians, especially those by Tomio Okamura, which downplay Russia’s aggression and harm public discourse in the Czech Republic.

Together with other civic and Ukrainian organisations in the Czech Republic, we have signed the joint statement titled "Vyjádření platformy ukrajinských organizací v ČR" and fully share and support the position outlined in this document:

Vyjádření platformy ukrajinských organizací v ČR
V Praze dne 2.1.2026

My, zástupci ukrajinských organizací a česko-ukrajinských platforem působících v České republice, ctíme základní demokratické principy a slušnost. Odsuzujeme nízká vyjádření politiků a jednotlivců, kteří osočují diplomatickou misi Ukrajiny v ČR, v čele s velvyslancem Ukrajiny v ČR panem Vasylem Zvarychem, z údajného zasahování do vnitřních věcí ČR.

Vyjádření pana poslance Tomia Okamury pak otevřeně podporují zjevného agresora, tj. rusko, uvádějí manipulativní a nepravdivé informace a tím účelově rozdělují společnost v ČR.

Jsme občané ČR, popřípadě osoby dlouhodobě či trvale pobývající na jejím území. Žijeme v souladu s právními zásadami a pravidly ČR a zároveň jsme aktivními účastníky veřejného a kulturního dění v České republice. Vyjadřujeme podporu diplomatické misi Ukrajiny v ČR, která v době probíhajícího genocidního teroru ruska vůči Ukrajině usiluje o co nejlepší česko-ukrajinské vztahy. Ty jsou dle našeho hlubokého přesvědčení celospolečenským i politicko-strategickým cílem České republiky i Ukrajiny.

We’ve prepared a short recap of our 2025 - a year in which we reached an incredible number of people.

Thank you to everyone who supported us this year - none of this would have been possible without you!

For us, this has never been just about numbers. Our primary goal has always been to carry Ukrainian values beyond Ukraine, here in the Czech Republic. We truly hope that in the coming year we will be able to achieve this goal even more effectively.

Wishing you warm and joyful upcoming holidays ✨

His Excellency shared his experience fighting malign influence on the discourse, unifying Czech public diplomacy efforts, and employing alternative methods of communication.

🇨🇿 As a bonus, you'll learn more about the "Dobré ráno, Česko!" ("Good morning, Czechia!") project, the aim of which is to produce a territorial marketing identity for the Czech Republic.

🧐 Why is effective brand communication and public diplomacy important for keeping the information sphere safe from disinformation?
