The Mysterious Sentinel in the Mist
Rising 3,143 metres above sea level, Fansipan is the highest mountain in Indochina. Yet what stayed with me the most was not its height, but its mood.
One moment the mountain reveals temples, statues and winding paths. The next, everything disappears into cloud, as if it had never been there at all.
Standing above the valleys of northern Vietnam, Fansipan feels less like a summit and more like a place suspended somewhere between earth and sky.
