Traveling during period... ooooff!

Hey girl, traveling during your period can be a bit of a pain, but with the right preparation and mindset, it can be a breeze! Here are a few tips I always keep in mind when I'm on the go during my time of the month:

🤔 Pack enough to cover all period days: Make sure you have enough period underwear to last you the entire trip even if it’s gonna hit days off only partially. It may come as a surprise when and how your period arrives (especially in a new environment!), so it's always good to have a backup.

😇 Stay comfortable: Whether it's wearing comfortable clothes, bringing a heating pad, or taking painkillers, do what you need to make sure you're comfortable during your trip.

😌 Don't be afraid to ask for help: If you're having a heavy flow day and need to change your products more frequently, don't be afraid to ask for help from a hotel staff or flight attendant. They've seen it all before, and are there to help you.

🤓 Pack your own toiletries: Bring your own toiletries like painkillers, heating pad, and sanitary products so you don't have to rely on whatever might be available at your destination.

😘 Stay hygienic: Make sure to wash your hands before and after changing your menstrual products, and bring along some wipes or sanitary pads to clean yourself up throughout the day.

Your period is a natural and normal part of life, and there's no need to feel ashamed or embarrassed about it. Just be prepared and take care of yourself, and you'll be able to enjoy your trip to the fullest.

I think a lot about the future consequences of current decisions of human, and I think - period underwear can be a great way to educate readers about sustainable and such (damn!) comfortable menstrual products, and can also be an interesting angle to explore as part of a larger story about the menstrual product industry.

17 měsíců, 600 dolarů a hlavně hodně víry a odhodlání. To vše abych vyzkoušela, otestovala a doladila skutečně pohodlné řešení pro hygienu v průběhu menstruace. Napadlo mě, že moje zkušenost by mohla být někomu užitečná, a tak se o ní tady trochu rozepíšu ;)

Ženy znají ten neustálý strach během menstruace. Tampóny nemusí sednout každému, kalíšky už vůbec ne a s vložkami se to bez nějaké té skvrny občas prostě neobejde. Co kdyby ale existovala varianta, která by byla pohodlná a zároveň spolehlivá? Varianta, která vám umožní cvičit jógu, jezdit na kole a bez obav prospat noc na zádech?

Odhaduje se, že průměrná žena do menopauzy spotřebuje téměř 13 tisíc vložek a tampónů. Jejich výroba není zrovna šetrná k životnímu prostředí a po použití zpravidla putují do koše, kde nadále přispívají k negativnímu dopadu na životní prostředí.

K vložkám a tamponům existuje alternativa – menstruační kalíšek. Ten nezpůsobuje alergie a poměrně dlouho vydrží.

Sehnat ten pravý je ale běh na dlouhou trať, často s velmi nejistým výsledkem. Sama jsem dnes hrdým vlastníkem 14 různých kalíšků v plejádě nejrůznějších tvarů a materiálů, každý v jiné úrovni pružnosti, ale pokud mám být upřímná – myslím, že jsem se zatím netrefila 😄

🤝 Proto mám pro slečny, které chtějí vyzkoušet něco trochu jiného, připravenou alternativu – menstruační boxerky: technologicky zvládnuté, ekonomicky dostupné a především všestranně bezproblémové.
