The cross-cut shear is the main steel and other strip processing equipment adopted in pickling, rolling, galvanizing, skinpass-leveling, recoiling and shearing lines. It is used for shearing the off-gauge part of strip head and tail, or implementing cut-to-length operation according to the process requirement, thus it is also called as crop shear or dividing shear. During strip processing, it cuts off the strip head for improving the head shape, reducing the threading resistance and the off-track risk, and minimizing the cobble problems; or cuts off the deformed or cracked part of the strip tail; or it is used as dividing to make cut-to-length shearing as required by the customer.
