Today, we proudly joined the global community in commemorating World Water Day 2026 under the theme “Water and Gender – Where Water Flows, Equality Grows.”
In collaboration with UNICEF, MINEE, and the WASH Cluster for SW Cameroon, the event was successfully held at the Wotutu/Ewongo/Bonadikombo catchment area. It brought together community members, school children, local authorities, NGOs, and development partners, all united by a shared commitment to safe and equitable access to water.
The celebration highlighted the critical link between water access and gender equality. Women and girls are often the most affected by water scarcity, and today’s discussions emphasized the need to empower them through inclusive WASH interventions.
Through interactive sessions, awareness campaigns, and community engagement, participants were encouraged to promote hygiene, protect water sources, and advocate for equal access to clean water for all.
As we mark this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to strengthening community resilience and ensuring that no one is left behind in accessing safe water and sanitation.
💧 Together, we can build a future where water truly supports equality and dignity for all.
