Innovative Project: Tajic foundation Empowers
Female Students in reusable sanitary pads in Dschang.

Over 100 female students of Success Bilingual Comprehensive College in Dschang have benefited from a groundbreaking training program on crafting reusable sanitary pads. The initiative, funded by the Pollution Project and executed by the Tajic Foundation from Bafoussam, aims to equip young women with practical skills and reduce financial burdens associated with purchasing sanitary products.

A team led by Erica Shakikang and Asama Mildred from the Tajic Foundation delivered the training, encouraging participants to apply their newfound knowledge. The experts emphasized the importance of self-sufficiency and sustainability in managing menstrual health.

Representing Success Bilingual Comprehensive College, Vice Principal Madam Ndibangwe Raisa Njang expressed gratitude to the organizers, particularly Board Chair Madam Atenkeng Louise, for championing this initiative. Madam Njang acknowledged the potential impact of this project on improving the lives of female students.

By teaching female students how to create their own reusable sanitary pads, this project promotes self-reliance, environmental sustainability, and economic empowerment. It's a valuable step towards addressing menstrual health challenges and supporting girls' education in the region.

The Success Bilingual Comprehensive College community looks set to benefit significantly from this innovative project, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Tajic Foundation, the Pollution Project, and the college administration.

Today, TAJIC Foundation joins the international community to launch 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence; with today being the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

2024 theme "Towards 30 years of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. UNITE!! To end violence against women" stresses on the urgency for partners to come up with solutions to end violence against women by 2030.

In this light, TAJIC Foundation has been proactively carrying out some activities aimed at ending violence against women namely:
- Sourcing for funds to prevent, respond and mitigate violence against women, ensuring perpetrators are held accountable.
- Championing women's economic empowerment so that women can access financial opportunities.
- Addressing barriers that prevent girls from pursuing their education and ensuring that girls stay in school through scholarship support schemes.
- Proactively supporting campaigns against Gender Based Violence.
- Getting involved through sensitization and awareness raising campaigns.
