FAPS Development Organization proudly participated in the launch of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), organized under the supervision of the Women Empowerment Center Buea and UNFPA. From November 25 to December 10, we join our voices in solidarity against violence toward women and girls, embracing this year's theme: “Unite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.”
Participating alongside various civil society and community-based organisations, walking from OIC Market to Bongo Square, unanimously raising awareness about the urgent need to combat digital violence. Through mobilising our community, we aim to create a safer digital environment for women and girls.
Throughout this campaign, FAPS Development will conduct sensitisation activities in schools and young women groups within communities, emphasising the impact of digital violence and also work with organisations on the GBV community engagement project. Together, we can make a difference!

Promoting Peace in Cameroon: A Call to Action
Dear fellow Cameroonians,
Today, I want to highlight the immense importance of peace in our beloved country. Peace is not just the absence of conflict; it is the cornerstone of a prosperous and harmonious society.
As we strive for change and development, we must realize that every sector; social, political, and economic—flourishes in an environment of tranquility and unity. By nurturing peace, we open doors to collaboration, understanding, and progress.
Together, let’s address the pressing challenges we face, from poverty to inequality, with dialogue and mutual respect. A peaceful Cameroon is essential for our dreams of sustainable development to become a reality.
Let’s unite in our mission to cultivate a brighter future where every citizen can thrive in dignity and hope. Embrace peace as our collective goal.
Together, we can make a difference!

On the 13th and 14th of August 2025, FAPS Development Organization, in partnership with Empowerment Action Network, Shield Africa a, Just Now Action - JUNA, Emerge and the of Women Empowerment (MINPROFF), hosted a transformative two-day boot camp at the Women’s Empowerment Centre in Buea Town under the theme “Voices That Lead.”
The camp brought together more over one hundred teenagers between the ages of 13 and 19 including pre-teens for an unforgettable journey in leadership, advocacy, and empowerment. Over the course of two days, participants engaged in interactive sessions on advocacy, human rights, leadership, menstrual health, gender-based violence, digital literacy, and the Sustainable Development Goals. They shared their stories, connected with peers and mentors, and discovered the power of their voices in shaping change within their schools and communities.
One of the highlights of the program was the session – : Wear Your Crown Even on Your Cycle,” which encouraged young people to see menstruation as a source of strength rather than shame. Participants learned practical hygiene practices, challenged myths, and created “Period Positivity Pledges” that built confidence and solidarity. Equally powerful were discussions on gender-based violence and the role of technology in advocacy, which inspired teens to think critically about the issues that matter most to them.
Groups presented their advocacy projects, showcasing creativity, teamwork, and determination. What stood out most was the courage and openness of the young participants, many of whom asked thoughtful questions about not only the topics covered but also about mental health, self-confidence, and the challenges they face daily.
The Voices That Lead boot camp was more than just a training program it was a safe space, a movement, and a platform for young leaders to rise. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many leaving the camp more confident, inspired, and ready to take action in their communities.
As community workers and advocates, we are reminded that our fight does not end here. We must continue to support these young voices, to create spaces for their growth, and to push forward critical advocacy such as the call for Zero Tax on Sanitary Pads. Too many women and girls continue to struggle with access to menstrual products, and as prices rise daily, the need for policy change becomes more urgent.
The success of this boot camp reaffirms the truth today’s teenagers are not just the leaders of tomorrow they are voices that lead today.
