Iniciamos la semana con Vio-lence y el clásico 🤘🏻

A lo largo de los años 80 muchas bandas consiguieron dejar su huella en la escena thrash. Algunas se hicieron más famosas y tuvieron más éxito comercial que otras, mientras que otras dejaron su huella y se desvanecieron en los libros de historia del underground. Aunque éste no es un álbum popular, tampoco es una joya oculta. Lo más probable es que si has pasado cualquier cantidad de tiempo indagando en la escena thrash habrás oído hablar de la banda Vio-Lence. Este álbum es fácilmente una obra maestra.

Se necesitaron cinco años desde su nacimiento en el 83 para perfeccionar el género en un solo álbum. Sin embargo, Eternal Nightmare es un clásico del thrash que nunca ha sido superado, ni probablemente lo será. Este álbum es la perfección del thrash metal. Todo lo que un verdadero fan del thrash puede necesitar está en este álbum, desde los rápidos y pesados rifirrafes del propio Rob Flynn, hasta sus locos solos que no sólo superan el rápido picking de Kerry King, sino que también lo muestran en un sentido melódico sin ninguna paja.

También hay que añadir una batería rápida como un rayo, y algunas voces furiosas de Sean Killian. Aunque cuesta acostumbrarse a su voz, especialmente en la primera o segunda escucha, una vez que te acostumbras a su estilo poco ortodoxo de cantar, te das cuenta de que aporta mucho después de todo. Probablemente pueda ir codo con codo con Paul Baloff en términos de pelotas. Aunque, en general, sus voces son más altas que las de Paul.

La producción también es muy buena. Las guitarras suenan muy crujientes, algo típico del thrash de los 80, pero aquí suenan bien. La batería y las voces también están bien mezcladas.

En general, este álbum tiene que estar en la colección de todos los fans del thrash metal. No importa lo que sea, los riffs y el trabajo de la batería hacen de este un esfuerzo casi perfecto, que todavía suena original y fresco después de casi 20 años. Las canciones son variadas en longitud, todas tienen muchos cambios de tempo, y no hay un fallo aquí, de hecho, no puedo elegir una mejor pista... cada canción aquí es impresionante.
