Happy Easter to all those who celebrate.🐰 In the picture you see a braided yeast loaf, one of many German Easter traditions. There might be many different reasons for celebrating this weekend. It might be your religious faith, or maybe the beginning of spring, or eventually you just like to celebrate to escape your day to day routine and think and do something, you usually would not prioritize. And there are certainly aspects of these traditions that are alerting. For example: taking certain structures as given and the only truth. Deadlocked behaviors often facilitate the danger of stopping scrutinizing what we do or think. However, there are comforting, positive, and thus important sides of traditions. It gives structure, a meaning, a highlight. We escape our daily routines, our daily rules. It is some sort of scheduled rebellion against our self-imposed restrictions. Right now, we have to get creative about how we can change this kind of rebellion within the lock down. Do something different, change up your flow. Call an old friend you have not spoken to in years, get crazy with your cooking, research into a topic that you were always interested in-but still know nothing about. Create a 3 minutes presentation about random facts and present it to your friends on a video call. Maybe even about different traditions of celebrating this time of the year in different cultures. 🐣🌻⁠

Being asked or "forced" to self isolate, does not have to be seen all negative. It is always about the way you look at things. Instead of panicking and being angry about other people getting the last toilet paper or last box of pasta, we could put our attention on the more positive sides. For example, on reconnecting with ourselves and enjoy the company we have at home. These times of not being able to do a lot of things give us the chance to refocus our attention to a lot of other things that we were not aware of due to all these daily routines. Exceptional times ask for exceptional thoughts and exceptional actions. ⁠
We shall not forget that with this simple change in our life we make it safer for everybody. ⁠
