Watching a hockey game with Thing #2, and intermission is on with one player being interviewed.

Thing #2: "Daddy, he says 'you know' all the time! He said it three times already in one sentence!"

Me: "Yeah, they all do that."

Thing #2: "Wait, it's four times now!"

Later...

Me: "Hey, what do you think about going to a hockey game together?"

Thing #2: "NAH!"

Me: "Why not?"

Thing #2: "Why would I pay a million bucks to watch a bunch of guys skate around?!"

That kid is pretty smart to have figured that out at 8 years old. Took me a lot longer than that...

The way the light hits it

Older son: "So what did you watch last night?"

Me: "Oh, just watched a bit of a TV show called Succession."

Older son: (stifles a snicker)

Me: "What? What's so funny?"

Older son: "Oh, nothing."

Me: "C'mon, you can tell me. Was it the word 'succession'?"

Older son: "Well... It sounds like 'six sevens'." (Snickers again)

Me (puzzled): "Eh? I think you think it sounded like something else but you won't tell me. C'mon, you can tell me."

Older son: "Dad, my zoomer generation is *very* interesting."
