🔧 REPAIR VS. REPLACE YOUR FURNACE

This important question is the one that every homeowner ask himself/herself. It depends on the age, condition, and level of satisfaction the homeowner has with his existing equipment.

Sometimes we are just afraid that the furnace will fail in the middle of the winter and decide to replace a great working appliance with the new one.

Its important to understand that new furnace may not fix problems with furnace short cycling, overheating, uneven heat distribution, air dryness etc. Only if the furnace is unsafe to operate (e.g. has a cracked heat exchanger) or nearing the end of its usable life and/ or the cost of repairs is significantly high (around 1000$), replacing the existing furnace makes a lot of sense. I would suggest having an HVAC technician you can trust to have a look at your system in between the seasons or prior to heating season start in September/ October to decide how to proceed. Although some furnaces may be unsafe to operate, they still may be salvageable and a subject to a warranty repair which is better be done before the season starts. Its all doable, just talk to us.
