Math Potentials

Here’s how we help Gr 5 & 6 math students using the Math Potentials Growth Path Method.
1. Assess — Build Readiness and Clarity
We identify what your child already understands and what they’re ready to learn next. This ensures every student begins at the right level of challenge, laying the foundation for growth.
2. Develop — Acquire Core Concepts and Skills
Key mathematical ideas are developed conceptually using proven curricula and teaching practices from Singapore and Japan, not as steps to memorize, but as logical relationships that can be reasoned through. Students then practice these new skills through repetition with purpose to build accuracy, fluency, and a sense of satisfaction from mastery.
3. Apply — Generalize and Extend Understanding
Once fluency is secure, students use their skills to solve multi-step and non-routine problems, seeing how concepts connect across topics. Students move beyond “doing math” to thinking mathematically: analyzing, reasoning, and transferring knowledge to new contexts.
4. Grow — Reflect, Communicate, and Advance
Students consolidate learning by explaining their reasoning, reflecting on mistakes, and tackling deeper challenges. They develop independence, confidence, and an enduring appreciation for the process of learning math.
In as little as 12 weeks, these steps create the transformation parents want for their child: A confident, capable, and curious math thinker who’s growing towards their full potential.

Every child’s learning journey is unique. That’s why at Math Potentials, we don’t place students by age or grade—we place them by their readiness. This ensures the right level of challenge, the right support, and the confidence to grow.
