Congrats to for another awesome race this year! Special thanks to all the athletes who braved the unseasonably warm weather to show your support. Proud to have completed the 8km race in 46:44 in support of through the Run4Hope program. Run4Hope is the charity program of the BMO Vancouver Marathon which aims to raise funds for social impact and community good. Never doubt the power of sport to bring our community together and make a lasting impact.

When BMO client Sebastian Cortez owned his first butcher shop in West Vancouver, he offered a unique value proposition: a destination location with a stunning display of specialty meats and staff trained in the art of craft butchery. Cortez now has two Vancouver-area locations of offering a range of artisan products from signature dry-aged steaks, holidays roasts, to small-batch sauces and rubs to hand-crafted sandwiches to go. His advice for entrepreneurs, “Focus on your passion but always be willing to listen to what your customers want. Try not to be too fixated on ideals that may not be commercially viable, but remain sincere in offering the very best product or service you can.”

As we wrap up Small Business Month, honoured to celebrate the 400 small businesses who were nominated for the 2024 awards. Last night we recognized the finalists and winners for their passion, creativity and positive community impact.
