Red packets or red envelopes show up at a lot of Asian funeral services. There’s some really beautiful symbolism in the practice of handing them out to guests.
I’m constantly disappointed by the fact that in many parts of North America, after-death care and services are really devalued.
A strong cultural connection to death-caring makes this part of life better.
