Hello folks! How many of you are thinking of home renovations? Some of us are constantly dreaming of a bath or kitchen remodel ( we all have our “favourite “ spot that doesn’t please our eyes). And it’s good- hope all of us will move from dreaming to recreating!
But I want you to do a little analysis before you run to the HomeDepot 😉
- break down (preferably on paper) what area is this? Do you use it everyday?
- If it is a hotspot in your house , what functions is it supposed to serve?
- What are the most disturbing element? Do you have things collecting by themselves in some spots?
- What is you real budget?
- As a graduating Interior Decorator I can tell you right away, that there is no beautiful room design without prior sorting! Every smart designer should assess what categories of things we keep in the area , and if there are too many -we should consider additional storage. That’s why many designers do suggest to work on organization first- that way both , owner and the designer can smoothly plan with no additional expenses for new storage!
