The aging population is having a direct effect on the health and social care sector by increasing demand, stretching resources and forcing systems to quickly adapt. As people live longer, there is a higher prevalence of chronic illnesses such as dementia, diabetes, heart disease, and mobility issues, all of which requires ongoing, coordinated care rather than short-term treatment. This places sustained pressure on hospitals, long-term care facilities, and community support.Overall,an aging population is reshaping health and social care-shifting the focus toward preventative care,aging-in-place, integrated services, and stronger community-based systems.Without these adaptions, gaps in care and inequities will continue to widen.
