With the unpredictability of rain, and periods of intense heat this summer, be sure to pay extra attention to how much water your gardens, planters and hanging baskets are getting.

💧SUMMER WATERING TIPS:
1. Attach a watering wand or sprayer with a gentle shower setting to your hose or use a watering can to give your gardens, planters and hanging baskets a big drink.
2. Slowly water around the base of your plants to allow the water time to soak in. You could also consider using a soaker hose.
3. Add a 2” layer of mulch around the base of your plants. This reduces water evaporation, keeps roots cool, and reduces the amount of weeding required.
4. For trees, try a tree watering bag that slowly releases water.5. Newly planted trees, shrubs and perennials need even more water than established plants.
