Richard Cœur-de-Lion: History Remade - Opera Going Toronto Richard Cœur-de-Lion, Voicebox: Opera in Concert. A semi-staged presentation of André Grétry’s rambunctious 1784 opéra-comique highlighting the freeing of Crusader King Richard I from prison at the hands of the medieval troubadour Blondel de Nesle.

Voicebox: Opera in Concert presents Lost in the Stars with Joel Goodfellow in his conducting debut!

Originally from Vernon, B.C., Joel makes his debut with OIC as conductor for this, the first in our reinvigorated orchestral series, Lost in the Stars. “I’m thrilled with the work and can’t wait for the audience to hear it in Weill’s original orchestration”. Goodfellow received the Koldofsky Prize in 2022 and has served on the coaching staff at the AIMS Institute in Graz for two years. Last summer, Goodfellow was the musical director for Summer Opera Lyric Theatre’s production of La Vie Parisienne. He is well-known in the GTA as a collaborative musician, and his CD, Detours – Music for Percussion and Piano, is available from Big Round Records.
