There comes a time in almost every landscape and wildlife photographer's life when they dream of having an image published by National Geographic.
Well... my time finally came.
A writer recently reached out looking for a photograph from Beaumont, Texas for an upcoming National Geographic article. They found one of my images and asked if I would be willing to license it for publication. Needless to say, my answer was YES!
I'm excited to share that my photograph of Cattail Marsh in Beaumont, Texas, appears in National Geographic's online article, "5 Small Texas Towns That Are Big on Charm—and Worth the Drive."👇

As photographers, we spend countless hours chasing light, exploring new places, and hoping our images tell a story. To have one selected by a publication as iconic as National Geographic is a milestone I never imagined when I first picked up a camera.
I'm definitely doing a little happy dance!
Thank you to everyone who has followed along and supported my photography journey over the years. Here's to many more adventures behind the lens.

5 small Texas towns that are big on charm—and worth the drive From desert landscapes in Alpine to marshland wildlife near Beaumont, these communities outside Texas's big metros offer a deeper look at the places, people, and landscapes that define the Lone Star State.
Steampunk wonderland? ✔️ Giant mechanical creatures? ✔️ One of the coolest attractions we found in France? Absolutely.
🇫🇷
Tucked along the waterfront in Nantes, Les Machines de l’Île feels like someone brought the imagination of Jules Verne to life. We watched a mechanical spider climb through the rafters, giant hummingbirds sip nectar from metal flowers, and an enormous heron soar overhead.
🇫🇷
Part museum, part workshop, part fantasy world, this is the kind of place that makes you feel like a kid again. If you're looking for something beyond France's castles, vineyards, and cafés, add Nantes to your list.

Have you ever visited a place that made you wonder, "How did someone even dream this up?" 🤯
This is definitely one of the most unique concert experiences we’ve ever had❣️
🎶
Have you ever been to a concert in a cave?
🎶
Now that we have, we seriously can’t believe we waited this long‼️
🎶
The natural acoustics, the underground atmosphere, and the energy of a SOLD OUT CROWD made The Caverns feel like one of the coolest music venues anywhere❣️
🎶
We were lucky enough to catch 49 Wi******er the night before the 61st ACM Awards, where they were nominated for Group of the Year‼️
🎶
While they didn’t take home the win, the crowd inside that cave proved exactly why Rolling Stone called them “Country Music’s Buzziest of Buzz Bands"
🎶
Their breakthrough hit “Russell County Line” recently earned the band their first RIAA Gold certification, and hearing it live underground was something special. 🔥
🎶
Tag someone in the comments that you'd take to a concert at the Caverns 🎶

🚨 The Flint River Needs Us Now 🚨
The Flint River isn’t just a body of water flowing through our area — it’s where our families make memories, where neighbors gather, where children play, and where local businesses thrive. It supports fishing trips, kayaking adventures, swimming, spiritual traditions, and countless moments that make our community special.
‼️Right now, that way of life could be at serious risk‼️
A proposed wastewater treatment plant may be built less than 500 feet from Berryhill Estates and Riverwalk neighborhoods, with plans to release between 1.2 and 4 million gallons of treated wastewater into the Flint River every day.
Even treated discharge on this scale could dramatically impact the river’s fragile ecosystem, threaten important wildlife including the endangered Eastern Hellbender salamander, disrupt eagle nesting habitats, and diminish the safety and beauty of one of our community’s greatest natural resources.
This is bigger than one project.
This is about protecting:
✔️ Our neighborhoods
✔️ Our families
✔️ Our outdoor recreation
✔️ Our small businesses
✔️ Our environment
We believe progress should never come at the expense of the places and people it serves.
We urge Madison County and ADEM to pursue smarter, more responsible solutions by choosing a location that safeguards our river, our homes, and our future.
