In times where you feel down and out.. When life has brought you to your knees and you’re begging for a solution. Making decisions doing something that will promote your progress can appear to be an insurmountable challenge. We denigrate ourselves in times of solitude, victim to the negative mindset that plays out as a broken record. It is not an easy task, but the will to actively shift our perspective on what it is we’re dealing with comes from within. Remember that there is no one coming to save us but ourselves.

We shouldn’t feel that we need to have a complete overhaul in our lives overnight. True and permanent changes happen on a moment to moment basis. These choices that we make will ultimately determine the destination we set ourselves upon. Set your intentions for the following day before you rest your head at night. Instead if ruminating of everything that can go wrong, have faith in everything that can go right. Our belief system dictates the reality that we perceive is happening to us. The a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

“It Does Not Matter How Slow You Go, As Long As You Do Not Stop.”

Progress needs to be measured by the inches. Having a mindset that is completely focussed on the end goal can be intimidating and debilitating. It can bring us to a state of comparison, constantly looking at our heroes or competitors like they are so far ahead that we can’t catch up. This can be a strong motivator, but we must remember to ground ourselves, stay in our lane and focus on our own path.

Accomplishing a milestone shows us that all of the hard work, sweat pain and tears were worth investing in. But once it is reached and celebrated, we naturally look forward to the next step. Focussing on the small things that we do on a daily basis, consistently moving forward towards a worthy ideal, will produce the confidence in our ability to get things done. We will trust ourselves to follow through on what we set our mind to. That small shift in a choice of meal, taking a walk instead of a drive, or simply organizing your living space to have a better clarity of mind. Our progress will compound. If we all focus on our individual evolution, together, we will collectively change the world.’

“Life exists only at this very moment, and in this moment it is infinite and eternal, for the present moment is infinitely small; before we can measure it, it has gone, and yet it exists forever….” ~ Alan Watts.

During this time of such uncertainty, it's easy to get lost in thoughts of chaos. I sat by the water and dug my feet into the sand. Spent a lot of time wondering where we're ultimately headed, not realizing that I was missing out on this experience of life. The here and now. Anxiety is built up on guilt and shame of the past or fear of what the future might hold. But this is our moment. Not one second is guaranteed. We are but a wave splashing on the shore. We rise, and we fall... Although eternally we're so much more… We. Are. Infinite.

Have you been feeling like you’ve been left in the dark? Like the shadows have been closing in? Where you’ve gotten to a place where it actually feels more comfortable to lock yourself off and have the blinds drawn because it feels that the light it shining too brightly…

When the walls are closing in on us, there’s almost a sense of comfort that comes with isolation. What is actually happening is that we’re blocking ourselves off from the light that is shining in our midst.

As blinding as It may seem, we must have the courage to embrace it, step into the light and illuminate our deepest shadows. We cannot escape the grip that the darkness holds on us if we’re unwilling to adjust our focus. The darkness has been holding us in this place of complacency. It’s time to face the light, and step into our greatness.

Life continuously opens windows and presents opportunities that we have the choice of engaging in. Many times we feel obligated to participate. Maybe we don’t want to disappoint or let someone down. Maybe we fear the loss of missing out. We may even choose a mediocre option because we don’t think we deserve the risky, but more optimal answer to our dilemma.

The foundation of our lives are built upon what we decide to say “Yes” and “No” to. There is power in saying “No”. No to an impulse. No to an invite. No to a decision that we know will deter us from the path of progression that we instinctively know we’re meant to be on.

We must not aim to please others by saying yes.. We must strive to understand ourselves fully, and respect when our inner voice directs us to “Just Say No”
