Someone intentionally left this dog, who had been poisoned, near food that was laced with poison. The dog ate the food and collapsed on the ground.

It was lying near a rural field by the roadside, shivering and unable to control its body.

Foam was coming out of its mouth, and it couldn't breathe properly; its eyes were half open and half closed.

It seemed completely helpless.

It appeared that the dog was very friendly, or someone had abandoned it.

But someone had ruined its life.

Then, a passerby noticed the dog in distress, walked over to it, and sat down on their knees beside it.

They placed water on its head and then said, "Please don't die."

Then they called for help, picked it up, took it to their car, and rushed it to the hospital.

The vet reported poisoning… it was a very serious critical case… emergency treatment started immediately with charcoal, IV fluids, injections, oxygen, everything was administered. 😭

For two days, its life was in danger, but the person stayed by its side, holding its paw on its leg, and then a miracle happened.

The dog stabilized, the seizures stopped, and life began to return to its eyes.

It was named Bruno.

When dad saw Whiskey for the first time 🐱💔
he was not happy at all 😢

He refused the idea of getting a cat 💔
"I don't like cats" 🐾

But still, we went to the shelter 🐱
I was already excited 😢

There was a little tabby cat 💛
green eyes... a bit scared 🐾

The worker said she is a little shy 💔
but she’s sweet 😢

Dad immediately said no 🐱
"She will just stay under the couch" 💔

We brought her home 😢
Whiskey went straight under the bed 🐾

Dad took a sigh of relief 💔
as if the problem was solved 😢

she slowly started coming out 🐾

sometimes she would sit beside dad 😢

Then one day she jumped straight onto his lap 🐱

Dad gently touched her 😢
scratched her ears 🐱

Whiskey became relaxed 💛🐾

From that day, a routine was formed 💔
Dad and Whiskey together 😢

While watching TV, she would be on his lap 🐱
at night, beside the bed 💛

The person who used to say “I don’t want a cat” 💔
became her biggest fan 😢

One day Dad chuckled lightly 🐱
"Alright... let's keep her" 💔💛

But the truth was 🐾
he had already become attached to her 😢💛

After 26 years of suffering, Veer is finally learning what peace and freedom feel like.

For decades, Veer was forced to survive on harsh streets, walking for hours on scorching asphalt while being used for begging and enduring years of exhaustion, neglect, and exploitation.

Day after day, his life revolved around survival instead of care.

Now, thanks to the work of Wildlife SOS, Veer’s story is finally changing.

Today he is receiving the compassion he was denied for most of his life:

soothing hydrotherapy,

advanced laser treatments,

medical care,

and soft sand beds where he can finally rest comfortably instead of suffering in pain.

His recovery is about more than physical healing.

It is about dignity.

Safety.

And giving an exhausted animal the chance to simply exist without fear or cruelty.

Stories like Veer’s are heartbreaking because they remind us how long some animals endure suffering before help finally arrives.

But they are also powerful reminders that rescue matters.

Healing matters.

And sometimes a second chance can arrive even after decades of pain.

Every elephant deserves a life built on care — not exploitation.
