The Protection ability is written as Protection from a particular quality.

A creature with protection from a quality cannot be enchanted, equipped, blocked, or targeted by anything with that quality, and all damage that would be dealt by a source of that quality is prevented, barring exceptions which explicitly state otherwise.

In this case, Basri’s Lieutenant has protection in this way from any multicolored cards, meaning any cards with multiple colored mana symbols in their mana cost.

Learning and predicting probability is another great skill that can be developed by playing Magic.

When players really progress with the game, they’ll want to improve their decks with cards that they have in their collection.

As they become better at this, they’ll have to balance having all of their best cards with the probability of drawing the key pieces they need to win. This balance will build a sense for probability that will help them down the road.
