When potential clients book free brand strategy sessions with me, I am often asked, "What is a dynamic logo design, why is it necessary, and what are some examples of big companies that do this currently?"

As a business owner who has shaped her entire business around her client's questions, my answer is this:

A dynamic logo suite consists of multiple logo options that share common traits, but may have variations in the chosen imagery and layouts. Those variations can include whether you have square, horizontal, or vertical formatting, or if you're placing those images on dark or light backgrounds, or the size of the canvas the logo will show up on - from a billboard to a website favicon.

What does this mean for your brand? Your audience is given more opportunities to resonate with and remember your brand, by having more symbolic options to associate with your brand's ethos.

My favourite example of the OG dynamic logo is Google and all of their calendar-based variations.

For anyone who thinks having multiple images associated with your brand will take away from its memorability - ask yourself if Google has that problem.

That's why when you work with Maison to build your own brand, we'll hand in around 6 different logo options and tell you to keep all of them. You'll use one predominantly, but have the variations available when unique opportunities come up.

Dynamic logo suites really shine if you're trying to develop a line of merchandise that advertises the brand without being too plain, redundant, or repetitive.
