Ever wondered why there are so many settings on your washing machine and dryer? Other than adjusting the temperature your clothes are washed at and for how long, each setting emits a different amount of carbon.

The most carbon intense setting is heat. The energy required to heat the water to wash your clothes is immense. The duration also factors in, the longer the machine is running, the more energy is being consumed.

Who would have thought that there are so many things to consider when washing your clothes sustainably!?
