My hardest training. My hardest meet in the 3 years I’ve competed in powerlifting.

Leading up to my peak for Provincials, I lost confidence in squat. Every heavy set was anxiety stricken - even with weight I had successfully done before.

The shakiness showed up on the platform and I couldn’t control it.

So, before my next meet I have an opportunity to face the squat demons and learn to ride the wave of nervous energy.

5/9 successful lifts. No meet PRs, but lots of learning.

Squat:
1 - 105kg / 230lb 🔴🔴🔴 (lost balance after completing the lift 😔)
2 - 105kg / 230lb ⚪️⚪️⚪️
3 - 112.5kg / 248lb 🔴🔴🔴 (chest dropped & needed spotters 🙏)

Bench:
1 - 50kg / 110lb ⚪️⚪️⚪️
2 - 52.5kg / 115lb 🔴🔴🔴 (jumped the press command 🤦‍♀️)
3 - 55kg / 120lb 🔴🔴🔴 (strength wasn’t there)

Deadlift: we scaled back the plan so I finished with weights I was confident in.
1 - 112.5kg / 248lb ⚪️⚪️⚪️
2 - 117.5kg / 260lb ⚪️⚪️⚪️
3 - 125kg / 275lb ⚪️⚪️⚪️

It was amazing to have the support of plus my siblings and their families in the crowd, as well as my everyone watching the livestream.

Thanks to my colleagues for encouraging me and spotting me, especially .cyclepath and Jordan.

Shout out to the event organizers and volunteers as well as my fellow M1 competitors for keeping it fun.

I have tremendous gratitude for who was my handler and who has been my rock through an emotional time in this sport (& life!) ❤️

I already qualified for Nationals in March, so back to training I go - not just physically but mentally too.

I’m very proud of the work I put in for this meet, despite the outcome. It’s an honour to compete at this level.
