It's that time of year again! With the warmer weather settling in it is time to start thinking about spraying Dormant Oil and applying fertilizer to your trees and shrubs.

For those who may be unsure if you need this, here are some of the benefits and tips when applying:

Dormant Oil:
- Helps protect against a variety of insects pests such as aphids, mealybug, thirps, whiteflies, adelgrids, catepillar eggs, leafhoppers, scale and mites.
- Spraying is more effective against young insects than against more mature ones. So timing of application is key. We can apply it later in the season, however the effectiveness is reduced.
- No toxic residue is left behind and is safe to use around humans and pets.

Fertilizer:
- For newer trees, it helps promote growth. For older trees, it helps provide a rich and stable environment to maintain long term health of the tree.
- We apply using an injection method called deep root feeding. This helps by injecting fertilizer directly into the root zone and encourages root cell division and repair.
- Proper feeding allows for improved flowering, resistence to diseases, increased ability to fight off insect attacks, and also helps lend a hand in poor soil or less than ideal planting locations.
- No toxic residue is left behind and is safe to use around humans and pets.
