In addition to being faster and heavier, rideables are often quiet and can go unnoticed as they approach. This is potentially dangerous, especially to vulnerable pedestrians, including seniors, children, and people with disabilities.

Only children 13 years old or under can cycle on a sidewalk. Mobility assistive devices such as wheelchairs are permitted on sidewalks 🧑‍🦽
