Lately, I’ve been moving between two tender needs in my life: rest and release.
My body often longs for rest, an essential act of self-care. Rest is how I replenish my energy and gather strength, especially while living with chronic health challenges.
Then there is my soul, which finds joy and purpose through release. My soul is always nudging me to share, create, and bring offerings into the world; something I love to do.
These two tender needs — rest and release — are profoundly important to me. Finding balance between them is a sacred practice. It’s about allowing rest and release to coexist, moving through the ebbs and flows, and trusting that each need will have its moment.
That’s why there are periods when I’m actively sharing and creating on social media, and others when I turn inward and grow quiet. There are seasons for releasing creativity into new offerings, and seasons for grounding and refilling my cup.
If you’ve been feeling pulled between the rest your body needs and what your soul longs to creatively release, remember: it’s okay to move gently between these two tender needs. There’s no need for guilt or pressure about what you should or shouldn’t be doing; it’s simply about listening to your body and soul.
This weekend, what’s one small way you can give yourself what you need, whether that’s rest or release?
(And to my clients, followers, and everyone who’s stayed connected here — thank you for being present, even through my tender moments of rest. Your presence here truly means so much to me.)
