Q: I've never hired cleaners before, do I need to pre-clean?

A: Yes and no - as a general rule, you'll get more bang for your buck if you're able to take a few minutes to clear surfaces of clutter, so that we can spend less time clearing and more time cleaning.

Some cleaners expect more than others, so the best thing to do is to ask your service provider what their preference is and try to remain consistent in your routine. If you specifically need someone who can help with clutter, make sure you're upfront about it and consider if you need organizing services in addition to cleaning services. Some cleaners offer both, others don't, so shop around until you find someone who matches your needs!

At Clearly Clean, we don't mind picking up some rogue toys or gathering up stray socks, but if you want your knick-knack shelf cleaned, we prefer you clear it ahead of time so we don't risk breaking any of your treasures. :)
