Hier, j’ai eu la chance de visiter l’exposition The Art of the Brick – Montréal, et… quelle merveilleuse expérience !
Dès l’entrée, on est plongé dans un univers où les briques LEGO® deviennent des œuvres d’art à part entière : plus d’un million de briques utilisées pour plus de 130 sculptures impressionnantes. 

On y retrouve :
• une reproduction gigantesque (6 mètre + / environ 20 pieds) d’un squelette de T-Rex entièrement en briques LEGO® – hallucinant. 
• des revisites d’œuvres d’art célèbres comme La Nuit étoilée de Vincent van Gogh, La Joconde de Léonard de Vinci, et même un clin d’œil à Le Penseur. 
• des œuvres originales de Nathan Sawaya, qui redonne vie aux briques d’une façon totalement inattendue. 
• un coin « play & build », où on peut laisser libre cours à sa créativité et construire soi-même en briques. 

Bref, que tu sois fan de LEGO®, amateur d’art ou juste curieux, c’est une sortie qui vaut largement le détour. Je repars inspiré, avec plein d’idées pour mes prochaines constructions.

Yesterday, I visited the The Art of the Brick – Montréal exhibition, and… what a fantastic experience!
From the moment I walked in, it felt like stepping into a world where ordinary LEGO® bricks become extraordinary works of art: over one million bricks have been used to create more than 130 sculptures. 

Highlights include:
• a massive (6 metres+/about 20 feet) LEGO® T-Rex skeleton that completely blew me away. 
• reinterpretations of famous art masterpieces like Starry Night, Mona Lisa, and even The Thinker. 
• original works by artist Nathan Sawaya, who’s turned bricks into something you’d never expect. 
• a build-your-own zone where you can dive into your own creative LEGO® session. 

So, whether you’re a LEGO® lover, an art enthusiast or just curious, this is a must-see. I’m leaving with tons of inspiration for my next builds.

« La Death Star tant attendue est enfin là… et elle ne passe pas inaperçue ! »

Amis constructeurs et fans de Star Wars, préparez-vous à la révélation de l’année : la Death Star UCS 75419 de LEGO débarque bientôt ! Avec 9 023 pièces, 38 minifigurines, et un prix de 1 000 $ USD (≈ 1 299,99 $ CAD), c’est tout simplement le plus grand et le plus cher set LEGO Star Wars jamais conçu !   

Cerise sur le gâteau (ou plutôt TIE sur le rack) : un GWP exclusif, le TIE Fighter avec Rack de hangar (40771) sera offert pour toute commande passée rapidement. Ce mini set contient 236 pièces, 3 minifigs (un pilote TIE + 2 stormtroopers) et se connecte directement au hangar de la Death Star pour plus d’immersion !    

Personnellement, j’ai un petit pressentiment… ce GWP — bien que sympathique — aurait vraiment mérité d’être inclus d’office dans la Death Star, ou mieux encore, être remplacé par quelque chose de plus exclusif et excitant, comme une minifigurine inédite ou un sabre laser emblématique… Vous ne trouvez pas ?

🚀 The long-awaited Death Star is finally here… and it’s massive! 🌌

Hey builders and Star Wars fans, get ready for the reveal of the year: the LEGO UCS Death Star (75419) has finally been unveiled! With a jaw-dropping 9,023 pieces, a record-breaking 38 minifigures, and a price tag of $1,000 USD (≈ $1,299.99 CAD), this is officially the biggest — and priciest — LEGO Star Wars set ever released!

To sweeten the deal, LEGO is offering a Gift With Purchase: the TIE Fighter with Imperial Hangar Rack (40771). This companion set includes 236 pieces and 3 minifigures (a TIE Pilot + 2 Stormtroopers) and can actually connect to the Death Star’s hangar for an extra touch of play and display.

Now here’s my personal take… While it’s a fun little bonus, I honestly feel this TIE Fighter should have been included in the Death Star from the start. A GWP of this scale could have been much more exciting if it were a truly exclusive collectible — like a brand-new minifigure or even a lightsaber build. What do you think?

Beaucoup trouvent ça cher… mais si on la déconstruit salle par salle, on réalise que LEGO a surtout regroupé plusieurs dioramas déjà existants dans une seule grosse structure.

👉 Voici une comparaison :
• 👑 Salle du trône de l’Empereur = Diorama 75352 (~100 $)
• 🚨 Bloc de détention = Diorama Trash Compactor 75339 (~90 $)
• ♻️ Compacteur à ordures = Diorama 75339 (~90 $)
• 🚀 Tranchée / Hangar TIE Fighter = Diorama 75329 Trench Run (~60 $)
• 🕴 Salle de conférence impériale ≈ (estimé 70 $)

Et selon les rumeurs… 👀 le GWP qui accompagnerait ce set serait un TIE Fighter de Vader avec un Dark Vador chromé ✨.
