I’ve been seeing a pattern in my clients leading up to hip surgery:
reduced range of motion in both flexion and hip rotation. Here’s why:
🔎 Hip degeneration (often due to arthritis) makes the joint stiff and limits mobility, especially in deep squats and rotational movements.
💥 Muscle imbalances and pain avoidance also play a role. Tightness and compensations make movement even more restricted.
🧠 If you’re struggling with this, working on mobility and strength in a safe range can make a big difference and potential mitigate the need for surgery!
