Jessie a RN Psychotherapist and is is part of our Carleton Place team.

Her nursing background informs the way she can understand the whole person (mind, body, nervous system, environment, and lived experience) and helps her recognize the undeniable relationship between physical and mental health.

If you are looking to start therapy or try someone with a different approach, Jessie has years of experience and is now accepting new clients in-person and virtually.

Over the past few years, Aruma has grown in ways we never could have imagined.

More practitioners. More services. More opportunities for healing, connection, and growth.

Our new website reflects that growth.

We’ve created an online space where you can learn about our team, explore counselling, somatic healing, coaching, ADHD supports, EMDR, art therapy, supervision, and Aruma TALKS.

So much gratitude for Bonnie Joyce for bringing this vision to life. Your thoughtful attention to detail helped create a site that truly reflects who we are.

A special thank you to Charlotte Rosalyn / Documentary Wedding Photographer for always capturing the heart of Aruma through your lens 📸

We hope you’ll take a look around 🧡

Graduations, retirements, moves, new jobs, becoming a parent, children leaving home — life transitions are often celebrated, and rightfully so.

What we don’t talk about as often is the grief that can accompany them.

Sometimes we’re grieving a chapter that is ending, a version of ourselves, a routine, a relationship, or a life that once felt familiar. The joy of what’s ahead and the grief of what’s being left behind can live within us at the same time.

If you’re moving through a season of transition and finding your emotions more complicated than expected, you’re not alone. Counselling can offer a place to unpack it all (the excitement, the uncertainty, the sadness, the hope) and make space for every part of the experience.

Because growth often asks us to hold both joy and grief at the same time.

As we move toward summer, many of us start filling our calendars before we’ve even asked ourselves how we’re doing.

Weekends become booked. Vacations become projects. Family gatherings, social events, camps, weddings, cottages, obligations.

While many of these things bring joy, they can also leave us feeling stretched thin.

What if this summer wasn’t about doing more?

What if it was about creating space for what you actually need?

Maybe that’s connection.
Maybe it’s adventure.
Maybe it’s rest.
Maybe it’s healing.
Maybe it’s simply having a few unscheduled days where you don’t have to be anything for anyone.

You don’t have to earn rest.
You don’t have to fill every weekend.
And you don’t have to sacrifice yourself to have a good summer.

What do you want to carry into this season? and what are you ready to leave behind?
