Today's reality? A meat chicken soaking in a cold water bath in the laundry room because she was struggling with the heat. Thankfully, she's loving it.

Getting her there, though? That meant catching a feral meat chicken out of a mobile chicken tractor that definitely wasn't designed for humans to crawl through. By the time I was done, I was dripping in sweat, covered in fresh end of the day chicken poo, and laughing at the fact that this is just another normal day around here.

It's not always the sparkly Instagram version of farming, but it's real, it's honest, and somehow you can still end the day happy as a bug in a rug... even after crawling around in fresh chicken poo. ❤️

We wait until after June 1 to plant potatoes as it is said that you won’t get potato bugs… we are going on 5 years of no potato bugs with this tip!
