The skull of a young lion sits on the shores of Matusadona National Park in Zimbabwe. Just 100 years ago, there may have been as many as 500,000 lions which roamed the African continent but today it is estimated there are as few as 16,000 - 25,000 that remain. There are many threats facing wildlife in Africa as human development encroaches on wild spaces. It is only when we see nature and its creatures as valuable and irreplaceable that we will begin to protect them.
