🚀 The Cofounder’s Journey

Ladan's journey as a cofounder has been a transformative experience. She shares her inspiring story: "Being a TandemLaunch venture founder feels like earning multiple PhDs. Learning so much in such a short amount of time was particularly challenging for me as a newcomer to Canada and the North American business culture. Fortunately, the excellent mentorship and coaching provided kept my energy levels high.

Being a founder means you need to excel in both soft/business skills and technical ex*****on, which are critical for success in commercializing an innovative technology. On the business side, this has meant learning to craft a compelling business proposition from the nucleus of some academic work and learning to communicate it through various channels: website, in-person pitches, written proposals, demos, etc. On the tech ex*****on side, this has meant rapid prototyping and testing, low-level programming, development of CI/CD processes, building a SaaS backend, and front-end development. As a small team, I’ve had to work on all of these, sometimes working alone. There is no other place I can think of where I could have gained this profound amount of hands-on experience. It is not an exaggeration or hyperbole when I say that this journey has transformed me as a person."
