You moved here to build a better life.
You send money home every month.
But there's one thing most hardworking families never plan for..
and it's the one that matters most.

We plan for everything.

The rent. The groceries. The balikbayan box.

The tuition back home. The pasalubong. The emergencies we can see coming.

But the one thing most of us never sit down and plan for is what happens to all of it, and everyone depending on it, if we are suddenly gone.

Not because we don't love our families enough.

Because nobody ever walked us through it in a way that made sense.

That is the conversation I have every single day.

And every single time, people tell me they wish they had started it sooner.

You work too hard for your family to leave this part unprotected.

💬 Share this with a hardworking family who needs to see it today.

Nobody taught us this growing up.

And the cost of finding out too late is something I watch families pay every single year.

Honestly? I didn't fully understand it either until I became an agent.

Growing up in the Philippines, insurance was never really part of the conversation.

We worked hard, we helped each other, we got by.

But life in Canada is different.

The costs are different. The risks are different.

And when something happens here, the financial burden can be overwhelming.

I am not sharing this to scare anyone.

I am sharing it because I genuinely wish someone had told me sooner.

💬 Did anyone teach you about this growing up? I'd love to know.

I asked a room full of people
how long their family could survive
if they stopped working tomorrow.

The silence that followed
said everything.

Nobody wanted to answer.

Not because they didn't know.
Because they did.

Most Canadians say less than 3 months.
Three months before the savings run out.
Three months before the tough conversations start.
Three months before everything you built starts to crack.

That's not a judgment.
That's just what happens when we work hard every day
and assume tomorrow will look like today.

It usually does.
Until it doesn't.

I've sat with families who thought they had more time.
Families who worked hard, loved well, and just never got around to it.

The hardest part of my job isn't the paperwork.
It's watching people realize, too late, how simple the fix was.

If that silence hit you too,
I created something for you.

It's a free 2-minute Family Protection Checklist.

Just a simple guide to know exactly where your family stands
and what, if anything, needs to change.

Comment "CHECKLIST" below and I'll send it to you right away.

She was given 6 months to live.

What her life insurance allowed her
to do in those final months
is something her family
will never forget.

She was one of my closest friends.

Terminal lung cancer. Six months, the doctors said.

I remember the call like it was yesterday.
The fear in her voice. The silence between words.

But then something shifted.

Because she had life insurance, about $150,000 in coverage —
she was able to access a portion of her benefit while she was still alive.
40 to 50 percent of it, used while she could still feel it.

She didn't spend those months worrying about bills.
She spent them with her family.
Eating together. Laughing. Saying the things that needed to be said.

She outlived her prognosis.
And when she eventually passed, the remaining benefit covered her final expenses
and left something behind for the people she loved.

Her family didn't have to ask anyone for help.
They didn't have to start a fundraiser.
They had space to grieve.

I lost my friend. But I'm grateful, every single day,
that her foresight gave her family that gift.

That's what this work means to me.
Not policies. Not premiums.
Peace of mind, when it matters most.

Your work insurance feels safe.

But there are 3 things it will never
tell you about what happens
the day you leave that job...

I hear this all the time:

"I have coverage through work. I'm fine."

And I never argue. I just ask three questions:

1. What happens to that coverage when you resign, get laid off, or switch jobs?
(It disappears. Same day.)

2. How much does it actually cover?
(Most group plans offer 1–2x your salary. Your mortgage alone is probably more than that.)

3. Is it tailored to your family's actual needs?
(It's a one-size-fits-all perk designed for a pool of employees — not your specific debts, dependents, or income.)

Silence. Every time.

Work benefits are a starting point.
They were never meant to be your whole plan.

A personal policy follows you everywhere.
It doesn't care if you quit, get fired, or start your own business.
It's yours.

Most people guess the cost of
life insurance at 3x higher
than it actually is.

When I show them the real number,
their reaction is always the same...

They go quiet.

Then they say: "Wait. That's it?"

Yes. That's it.

A $500,000 policy for a healthy 30-year-old in Canada?
Around $20–$30 a month.

Less than one Uber Eats order.
Less than a gym membership you use twice a month.
Less than the extra data plan on your phone.

I'm not saying this to make you feel bad.
I'm saying it because the number one reason people give me for not having coverage is cost.

And the research backs this up,
Canadians overestimate the price by up to 300%.

Three hundred percent.

Which means most people are walking around unprotected
not because they can't afford it,
but because they never asked.

It was during the pandemic.

Everything was uncertain. Jobs were shaky. People were scared.
He was one of my clients, quiet, hardworking, never complained.

He got sick.

And because he had critical illness insurance, something he almost didn't get because "it felt like another expense", he made a claim.

$45,000.

For less than $60 a month.

When I called to check on him, he said something I'll never forget:

"I'm not happy because I'm sick. I'm happy because my family is safe."

That's it. That's the whole reason I do this.

Not to sell a policy.
To make sure that when life hits, and it will...
the people you love don't have to figure out how to survive it financially.

That man's family ate. Paid their rent. Stayed together.
Because he made one decision before he needed to.

58% of Canadians say life insurance
is important.

Only 39% actually have it.

That number stopped me the first time I read it.

Because I've seen it play out in real life.

A family loses their dad, the one who paid every bill, sent money home every month, held everything together. And within weeks, the GoFundMe goes up.

Not because people don't care.
Because there was no plan.

Here's the thing nobody tells you:
Life insurance doesn't just pay for funerals.
It pays the mortgage.
It keeps the kids in school.
It gives the surviving parent time to grieve instead of panic.

The 19% gap isn't about money.
It's about believing it won't happen to you.

Until it does.

It's a good benefit, but it’s not meant to be your family’s only plan.

You and your family deserve protection that stays with you,
no matter where you work or what happens next.

When something tragic happens, it’s heartbreaking to see families asking for donations…😢
or borrowing from friends, just to get by.

The truth is, most didn’t have a plan,
not because they didn’t care, but because no one helped them prepare.
Or they thought they couldn’t afford it.

I’m not here to scare you.
I’m here to help you protect everything you’ve worked so hard to build.
Even a small plan can make a big difference.

Working two jobs,
Sending money home every month,
Carrying the responsibility for people here and back home?

If you’ve been thinking about insurance but keep hesitating…
not because you don’t want protection,
but because you’re afraid of spending on the wrong plan.

that hesitation actually makes sense.

I see this all the time.
It doesn’t mean you’re behind.
It doesn’t mean you’re irresponsible.

It means you’re being careful
with your family and your money.

And when it comes to protection,
care and clarity matter more than pressure.
