This is a video from winter 1994 that captures railway action from southern Ontario on CN’s Dundas Subdivision from around Paris, Paris West and Princeton. As well, trains are filmed on CP’s Galt Subdivision at Wolverton, plus the town of Ayr from February to March 1994. Additionally, a CP local job from Galt with a pair of SW1200RS’s is seen at Hagey on the Waterloo Subdivision with auto racks for the Toyota plant in Cambridge.

This is a video from November 1994 and May 1995 that captures railway action from around London, Ontario and CN’s MacMillan Yard in Vaughan, Ontario is also visited. In the first part of the video, a number of CN, CP and VIA Rail trains are filmed during a November 12, 1994, visit to London. Several CN trains are seen on the Dundas Subdivision around London Jct, as well as CP trains on the Galt Subdivision at Quebec Street Yard. Additionally, some newly built units from the nearby GMDD facility are filmed at Quebec Street awaiting delivery.

The second part of the video is a tour of CN’s MacMillan Yard in Vaughan, which was obtained after signing a release form at the diesel shop on May 22, 1995. The footage includes a tour of the shop as well as a tour of the shop tower. Some notable locomotives filmed that afternoon include two brand new Santa Fe (ATSF) SD75M’s 220 and 224 that were on route to Chicago after being recently built by GMDD in London. Also, former Delaware Coast Line Railroad RS3 1202 was seen in transit outside the diesel shop as well. The footage was captured by railfan, videographer and travel photographer Glen Mounk. On April 26, CN train 435 departed MacMillan Yard in Vaughan, Ontario with two former EXO F59PH’s, now lettered and renumbered as GOTX 580 and 581 for Toronto commuter agency GO Transit. Both units were still in their EXO colors, which is the public transit system for the Greater Montreal, Quebec area and the operator of their commuter network. Ironically, both F59PH’s were originally sold by GO Transit during 2011 as they were declared surplus and bought by AMT, which was re-named EXO in 2018. They had purchased 10 former GO F59PH’s and eventually refurbished them over several years. Recently, EXO had begun receiving their order of 10 Siemens Charger locomotives with sources indicating that the 10 Chargers would be used to replace its F59PH fleet. Both GOTX 580 and 581 were set-off at Aldershot on the Oakville Subdivision and transported to the Mimico Metrolinx yard for future furtherance. April 26, 2026.

During September 1992, several eastbound trains are filmed on CP’s Galt Subdivision between the city of London and the town of Thamesford, Ontario. The first train is filmed departing CP’s Quebec Street yard in London with SOO Line 6409 and 780 crossing the CN Guelph Subdivision heading to Toronto. The following trains are captured in and around Thamesford crossing the large Thames River bridge, including an eastbound with three big MLW’s. Following a late winter dumping of snow in March 1993, CN had ordered a snow plow to clear the Waterloo Spur north towards the town of Elmira from Kitchener, Ontario. The Kitchener Job was powered by recently remanufactured GP9RM 7042 and utilized Kitchener assigned plow 55408. In this video, 7042 and the vintage plow are filmed returning through Waterloo Town Square in uptown Waterloo, as well as crossing King and Regina streets. During a summer evening, a CN Kitchener Job is filmed returning from Elmira through uptown Waterloo, Ontario on the Waterloo Spur in the early 1990’s. The train is powered by SW1200RS 1254 and also has caboose 79752 as it returns south to the yard in Kitchener. This is part four of a four-part cab ride aboard SOO Line SD40-2 6613 as it leads an eastbound CP Rail train over the Galt Subdivision from London, Ontario to Toronto during September 1995. Throughout their trip, the crew encounters several meets with other westbound trains as they head to Toronto Yard while completing work at yards in Woodstock , Guelph Junction (Campbellville) as well as Lambton Yard near West Toronto.

In part four, the train continues eastbound on the Galt Subdivision from west of Meadowvale, situated to the east of Milton, passing through Streetsville and Obico. Just as the video begins they meet westbound auto train #737 with SD40-2 6038 and HLCX SD40 3120 to the west of the Meadowvale GO Transit station. From there, 6613 east continues to run into the GO Transit evening westbound commuter parade as they travel through Mississauga and into the greater Toronto area. Upon arrival at Lambton Yard, our crew performs work alongside another eastbound train before departing Lambton, and heading towards Toronto Yard on the busy North Toronto Subdivision. The video concludes as our videographer prepares to leave SOO 6613 for another westbound train that would take him and a friend back west to London.
