When we put negative energy towards a person/situation, it gets hard to see the good in them/it. Our focus creates more of the same that we are expecting. In many cases, it is not easy to change our perspective, but by seeing the positives, we give ourselves the power to choose a healthier way to respond.
Choosing to look at positives does not mean pushing aside your negative emotions about that person or situation. Your emotions are valid and should be acknowledged so that you can release them. It allows you to see the bigger picture, become more mindful, and able to forgive (to free yourself) and move on.
