Join us for our Date Night event on May 19th at 7:00PM at the Four Points hotel in Downtown Kingston. Purchasing a ticket for $149 will cover admission for you and your partner, a guided tasting of 4 wines, 3 relationship strengthening activities, and a light snack.
RelationSips is a budding new business that offers event-based programming designed to fuse relationship enhancement with mindful wine tasting. RelationSips is ran by Claire Pecora, a Registered Psychotherapist who specializes in relationships and Alex Amey, the General Manager of Food & Beverage at The Frontenac Club Inn and WSET Certified. RelationSips looks to offer a space that facilitates the deepening of connections in the relationships that matter most.

Did you know... wine tasting is an inherently mindful experience? Well, it is! Mindfulness is a hot topic these days, but essentially; it is simply about slowing down, being in the present moment, and attuning to all of one's senses. This process helps us step back from the "mental chatter" and busy-ness of the day. Mindfulness could be employed in meditation, while on a walk, doing the dishes, eating and drinking... or in any daily experience!
A guided wine tasting engages all of our senses: how does it look, smell, taste; how does it feel on your tongue, in your throat, and throughout your body as it travels; how do you notice your body reacting and the lingering sensations in your mouth; and how are you feeling generally sitting in the environment as you are soaking in the atmosphere around you?
What about when you're not in a guided tasting and you're left to your own devices? Try using the acronym STOP. Stop/Slow Down. Take a few deep breaths. Observe the feelings in all 5 senses (How am I feeling? Do I like this? Do I want to keep drinking?). Proceed mindfully.
