Congratulations to our Communications & Rhetoric graduates! πŸŽ“βœ¨

This year marks a special milestone β€” the very first graduating class with a minor in Communications and Rhetoric at UBCO.

Pictured here: Zadie McLeod (left) and Kaylie Walker (right) with ECS Department Head Jordan Stouck (centre) at the FCCS reception following convocation on June 4.

Kaylie completed her BA in Political Science with a minor in Communications and Rhetoric. She shares: πŸ’¬ β€œThe practical experiences in CORH classes helped me build my portfolio and secure my current role as Parliamentary and Communications Assistant for Stephen Fuhr. I look forward to using both my academic background and hands-on experience to serve constituents and represent Kelowna in Ottawa.”

Zadie completed her BSc in Biochemistry with a minor in Communications and Rhetoric. Her capstone project focuses on creating a platform to translate scientific research clearly and accurately for different audiences.

Communications & Rhetoric courses are open to all undergraduate students β€” whether as electives or as a 30-credit minor. Strong communication skills are valued across industries, and it’s inspiring to see our students building these essential skills alongside their degrees. πŸ‘
