Today, I am proud to officially introduce Jay Fitches as our Director of Operations.

Jay brings more than 25 years of experience in security operations, close protection, labour-focused security environments, surveillance, risk management, and operational leadership.

With a professional foundation rooted in military service and decades spent working in complex, high-responsibility environments, Jay has built a reputation for calm leadership, sound judgment, and getting the job done the right way.

Throughout his career, he has worked extensively alongside Indigenous communities, Indigenous police services, and community leaders, developing trusted relationships built on communication, respect, accountability, and cultural understanding.

His experience spans:

▪ Security Operations Leadership
▪ Close Protection & Executive Security
▪ Labour Dispute & Industrial Security
▪ Surveillance & Counter-Surveillance Operations
▪ Risk Assessment & Operational Planning
▪ Community & Indigenous Liaison Engagement

Katie brings an exceptional combination of education, leadership experience, and real-world operational understanding to our organization.

Her background includes:

▪ Bachelor of Business Administration – Saint Mary’s University
▪ Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR)
▪ 17 additional certifications in business, leadership, and communications
▪ Former Eastern College Instructor, recognized for developing and mentoring future professionals
▪ Extensive experience in recruitment, talent development, and workforce engagement
▪ Also a licensed Security Professional with hands-on field experience

What makes this appointment especially meaningful is that Katie understands both sides of the business.

She understands people.

She understands operations.

And she understands what it takes to build a team that clients can trust.

As we continue to expand, Katie will play a key role in recruiting great people, supporting our staff, strengthening our internal culture, and helping us create the kind of company many of us wished existed when we first entered this industry.

📢 Apex Core Protection Announces Peter McNeil as Nova Scotia Provincial Manager

As Apex Core Protection continues to build for the future, we are proud to announce the appointment of Peter McNeil as our Nova Scotia Provincial Manager.

Peter joins Apex with more than 25 years of experience in operations leadership, team development, stakeholder engagement, business growth, and service delivery. Throughout his career, he has successfully led large-scale operational teams, managed complex environments, and built strong relationships founded on trust, accountability, and results.

Known for his calm leadership style, strategic mindset, and people-first approach, Peter brings the experience and professionalism necessary to help guide Apex through its next phase of growth.

In his role as Provincial Manager, Peter will focus on strengthening and expanding our Static Security Division, supporting operational excellence, developing client relationships, mentoring team members, and helping build the systems and structure needed to support long-term growth throughout Nova Scotia.
