It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the devastating news of the passing of our dear Licensing Officer, Michelle Lagace, on December 27, 2025. Michelle was taken from us in a tragic incident, and the loss is being felt profoundly by all who knew her.

As a Licensing Officer based in Grande Prairie, Michelle worked closely with many of us across the child care sector. She was more than just a dedicated professional—she was a bright light who brought warmth, kindness, and genuine care into every interaction. Her optimism was contagious, her presence comforting, and her commitment to supporting children and caregivers unwavering.

Michelle leaves behind a legacy of compassion and excellence, and her absence has left an unfillable space in our hearts and in our community. She will be missed beyond words—but never forgotten.

In times like these, it’s natural for emotions and questions to arise. If you are feeling unsettled or have concerns, particularly regarding any rumors or speculation being circulated on social media, I gently encourage you to speak directly with Katie Stuckless, Shabnampreet Kaur, or your Program Director. Let’s honor Michelle’s memory by supporting one another with kindness, grace, and respect.

Please take care of yourselves and each other. We are here for you, and we will walk through this difficult time together—with the same compassion and unity Michelle always showed us.
